When you really sit down and think about it the only real difference between speed dating and online dating is that one is in the real physical world and one is online. Of course, it is because of that difference that the two are nothing close to the same.

For instance online dating allows you to view and read about an almost unlimited amount of women who may or may not exist. Yet, when it comes to speed dating must events have less than 50 women and many times not even 50 people total.

However, at speed dating events you know what she looks like or at least what she looks like in dim lighting; whereas with online dating the picture may or may not be recent and may or may not be the person that you think it is. Another difference between online dating and speed dating is the response time.

In online dating you have no ideas when or if she is going to respond even though if she is interested it is usually within a couple of days. With speed dating you know almost instantly which women are interested in you and more importantly which ones you are interested in. Of course, just as I wrote earlier speed dating and online dating are a lot alike as well.

Both expect you to make your first decision based on who the other person says they are rather than who they really are. Both increase the chances of you actually talking to someone that you otherwise might not talk to. Neither one allows you to pretend that you signed up or came for a purpose other than talking to members of the opposite sex, even though you really might have.

In the end, if you are already doing one you might as well do the other and if you are a man wondering why you haven't got the type of results you want with either one. Perhaps you should reconsider the methods you are using or improving yourself in ways that attract women.
